I’ve just released the 5-book series, Lost in Front of You. For those who don’t know, I almost always release whole series at once, so you never have to wait for the next book.
Lost in Front of You is similar to Wild Magic and Truth Seer – punchy, fast-paced urban fantasy with snappy dialogue and a sprawling plot. It follows a witch who discovers a dark world of magic and a corrupt system that enables the powerful to own the weak. As always, you can check out the first book for free on my website here. (For those who don’t know, you can download over a 100 free series-starters right here on my website: https://www.odettecbell.com/pages/free.
You can also pick up Lost in Front of You Book One from the following retailers (note, Lost in Front of You will also be available on Kobo, but there’s been a publication delay).
Amazon Kindle | Apple iBooks | Google Play | Smashwords
In other news, I don’t have much to report. I’m working on a cool new series about modern Nordic gods who have to protect the quantum realm. It’s a reimagining or Ragnarok as the death of stable reality. It follows a young woman who discovers magic when she wakes up one of Mjolnir’s broken pieces. She must then struggle to piece the legendary hammer back together while avoiding death and Thor (which could be worse?). I’ve really been trying to tighten my prose with this new series, which has been a fun challenge. There’s always a struggle when doing that to keep your unique voice as a writer without letting too much word-bloat in. Hopefully I’m hitting the nail on the head – with Mjolnir.
A note about Amazon and their price matching: For those of you who remember from my previous emails, I’ve had an ongoing, frustrating issue with Amazon erroneously making some of my full-priced box sets free. It’s happened multiple times over the years to me. But it’s happened with every box set I’ve put up there since December. I thought I could get away with A Future Lost: The Complete Series. But nope. They set it to free within two weeks. I’ve tried multiple times to get them to fix these issues in the past – I either have to get my union involved, or they just don’t care. As you can hear from my tone, I’m kind of sick of this. No other retailer randomly gives your books away for free. Anyway, the upshot is I won’t be publishing any more box sets to Amazon for the foreseeable future. Maybe they’ll fix it one day. I won’t hold my breath.
If you want a better deal and a convenient box set for any of my newer series, I publish at all major retailers who take indie authors, and you can always cut out the middle man and buy directly from me at www.odettecbell.com.
Anyway, that’s it from me. I hope everyone has a great month, and happy reading 😊.
